Jungle Fever

I didn't realise how pretty the background of these photo's was until I put them on my laptop. I'm only in the woods at the back of my house but when I look at these pictures it makes me think of a mystical forest of some sort lol! The colours and prints on my outfit also give it a real naturistic (if that's a word?) feel don't you think?! Anyway, this is what I wore last weekend when it was lovely and warm which I'm beginning to think was a figment of my imagination as I had to chuck my furs on again when I popped out last night argh!

I feel like I have so many clothes that I havn't blogged about yet but I am getting some new rails this week so it will hopefully be a lot easier and quicker to sift through everything and put outfits together soon, yay! Does anyone else sometimes stare at their mountains of clothes and think 'I havn't got the foggiest idea what looks good today'? I've been in a bit of a style rut recently so I am hoping that this will help and I'll get more inspo about what goes together etc soon.

Anyway how gorge are my rings?! I particularly love the one on the left. I used to be obsessed with entertwined rings when I was little and remember my Mum having one that I used to play with and (try to) wear all the time. I picked up this little gold one at the car boot sale recently and can't stop wearing it! I love it when you revisit something from years ago and it ends up being just as amazing as you remember it haha.

Two posts in one evening?!?!?!

Well I also wanted to make a little announcement...

Last week was officially the best week ever as I landed myself a job at Reveal Magazine!!

As most of you will be aware, I have been interning for a little while now, building my experience within the fashion industry and finally my hard work, determination and perseverance has paid off!! I am SO thrilled and just wanted to share my good news with you all.

I will be writing and styling for the magazine and will also be compiling my very own pages - this is the ultimate dream come true for me!! My first piece of published work is in this week's mag (the mag comes out every Tuesday) and I have written a feature on Cat Eye sunglasses. Check it out!!!!!

P.s. If anyone has any questions about work experience/interning, please comment below as I'd be more than happy to help and share my experiences :)

Monochrome

So this week I thought I'd put my two cents in for one of the biggest trends of SS13. I was recently gifted these gorgeous Harlequin print jeans from Desire Clothing and decided to stick with the monochrome theme by adding a simple black top half and metallic snakeskin boots to mix it up a bit. Monochrome is a great trend because you can play around with different textures and shades without looking too overdone. I like to wear the trend by layering contrasting textures i.e. sheer and leather and then adding a small pop of colour for maximum impact. A bright pink lippie does the job perfectly!

Tusk Necklaces - Bootsale
Metallic Snakeskin Boots - Office (Sale)

If you havn't already, go check out the gorge pieces on the Desire website - I'm loving the Graffiti Bodycon two piece (I'm OBSESSED with two pieces currently!) and these classic Ankle Strap Heels. There's also a skirt version of the jeans I'm wearing in this post!

How would you style a monochrome outfit? I'd love to know!

Coraline

Good eveninggg!

Hope everyone is well and has been enjoying the sunshine. Spring is finally here so I thought I'd mix it up a bit and inject a nice pop of colour into my usually all-black wardrobe! I originally bought this crop top in white but when I tried it on at home (I never try things on in shops - such a chore queing for the changing room and then getting all sweaty!) I discovered the arms/armpit area was tiny compared to the rest of the top. So after getting a bit stuck and nearly having to be cut out of it, I set about swapping for the next size up. I REALLLYYYY wanted the white cos it makes such a fresh change to my wardrobe but after being unable to find the next size up ANYwhere, I opted for the coral instead. I also remembered that I had this lipstick (Kate Moss for Rimmel, shade 110 FYI) which matches perfectly - winner!

My necklace kind of scares me as I can't stand spiders but I sort of love it! I keep catching a glimpse of it and freaking myself out hahaha.

Right, it's time for tea and maltesers so I bid you all Goodnight :)

Sixteen In The Middle Of Miami

Ok so once again you can bear witness to my slight obsession with black mesh/fishnet related items. I can't help it!! The black obsession strikes again but note my pop of colour - this amazing little crop top that I picked up from New Look of all places! I rarely enter a New Look store as I'm not a massive fan but this time I decided to have a nose around the concessions section which I think has a more interesting selection of goods to offer than regular New Look. Definitely check it out if you're looking for something a little bit special. This crop top is from the 'Parisian' brand which has lots of quirky items and prints. The pattern is so cool - lots of random things that surprisingly work really well together! Also check out the 'Cameo Rose' brand for lots of grungy goodies - winner!

Multi Crop Top - New Look Concession
Mesh Long Sleeved Top (under) - Ebay
Silver Spiked Necklace - Topshop
Cross Studded Belt - Primark
Black Leather Skirt - New Look Teenage Section
Black Tights - Primark
Petrol Boots - Topshop Unique

A thrifty tip for you all: The teenage/kids section of a store is ALWAYS worth a look. I'd been after a plain leatherette skater skirt for a while but most of the one's I had seen seemed to top £25 which I thought was a little overpriced. So, you can imagine my excitement when I spotted this skirt in the 9:15 section for just £14.99! Garments will always be cheaper in the Kids' section so go bag a bargain at a fraction of the price. Size wise - I purchased age 14-15 which is around the same sizing as a UK 8 - 10. 9:15 (stocked in New Look) and Tammy Girl (stocked in BHS) both go up to an age 16 which should fit a size 12-14. Keep those eyes peeled!

Faux Christian Louboutin Heels

I must apologise for my recent absence ladies...

There isn't really any one reason as to why I havn't blogged in a while, sometimes life just gets in the way! Plus I havn't felt very inspired lately...so I figured it was best to just take a little time out rather than blog half-heartedly.

ANYway, one of my oldest friends recently got married so I thought I'd show you a little outfit which I wore to her wedding reception. There wasn't any strict dress code so naturally I chose a little black number, what a shocker lol ;)

Black Lace Dress - Coco's Fortune @ Topshop
Silver Spiked Necklace - Topshop
Black Studded Skinny Belt - Charity Shop (Similar Here)
Envelope Clutch Bag - Gift (Similar Here)
Spiked/Neon Heels - Simmi Shoes

How cool are my spiked neon heels?!?! I was really drawn to them as they look like Christian Louboutin knock offs haha. A tip for anyone purchasing pointed heels - always go a size up because unlike flats, heels will push your foot towards the front of the shoe creating a whole lot less space (and bunions, ugh!).

Hope you enjoyed my return post :)

Maybe I'm Goin' Crazy

I have become somewhat obsessed with bodychains over the past few months. They are a great alternative to just throwing on a necklace/belt/jumper and I think they are the perfect way to transform what would otherwise be a plain old dress/tee into something a bit special. This beautiful chain was gifted to me during one of my internships a couple of months back but you can easily find these on Ebay by searching 'body chain' or 'body harness'.

The pictures don't really do the chain justice as the stones are a gorgeous iridescent petrol shade which is just sublime!! I am a massive fan of the whole petrol thanggg as you may have come to realise! My gorge boots included :)

I have a couple more body chains which I have acquired recently so expect to see some variations in upcoming posts - stay tuned for more ideas on what to pair them with!

I apologise for my unusual facial expressions - it was ridiculously windy and icy cold when I took these pics and I was struggling to stop my eyes from watering and ruining my make up! :p
